On a beautiful day last September I drove up through Mid Wales to Garthmyl Hall. Situated on the Wales/Shropshire boarder, It is an incredible luxury venue offering a very personal service to each couple that chooses to hold their wedding there.
And I can see why so many people would choose to have their special day here! The rooms are elegant and unique and the grounds are simply stunning!
The workshop was held by Miles Workshop. I’d attended their first wedding workshop at The Courtyard Venue the month before and loved the feel of it so I was really looking forward to this one at Garthmyl Hall too!
The styling was elegant luxury and the team gave us the most beautiful selection of installations to photograph! Light, pretty, classic and stylish are the words I would use to describe the feel of the day. We had a real life couple and an editorial model to photograph which gave us a great variation of looks.
I began the day with our lovely model Olivia for the “bridal preparations” part of the shoot. The bedroom was just gorgeous! It had it’s own bathroom (I won’t call it an en-suite as it’s so much more than that!) A wedding morning would be absolutely amazing in this suite!
The Couple Photographs
Next we moved to the garden where Liberty Lane Flowers had created the most amazing floral installation! It was so beautiful as a backdrop for the ceremony photographs. Our couple, Joanne and Kieran were brilliant. They were such a fun couple who were so lovely to photograph. Joanne wore a stylish elegant gown by Nikeen Asar, who was with us throughout the day making sure all the bridal gowns were styled perfectly. It was fantastic to have the designer himself with us on the shoot!
Garthmyl Hall has it’s own meadow and we were lucky enough to capture our couple there whilst it was full of wildflowers! Soooo pretty! Afterwards the lucky couple even got to pop a bottle of champagne drenching us completely! It was a great moment and despite the champagne shower the shots were so worth it!
I mean where do I start with Olivia?! She was incredible. Photographing a model is an experience in itself! I was able to get some great editorial style images which gave me a different type of bridal portrait. The Orangery at Garthmyl Hall was the perfect spot for these light filled photographs and I love how light and bright they are!
Later in the day, Olivia changed into yet another beautiful Nikeen Asar gown and we photographed her in the garden. The floral arch and Victorian walled garden were so pretty in the afternoon light!
The design and styling for the workshop was by Attabara Studio and their attention to detail was incredible. Everything about the styling was beautiful… Honestly I never get enough of photographing such beautifully curated details!
Blonde Army and The Destination Wedding Co co-ordinated the whole day perfectly. Ambers Wood Fired Kitchen supplied the food truck for the shoot and one of the perks of the shoot was having pizza for lunch! It was the most delicious pizza I have ever tasted in my life! I’m not kidding!
I left this wonderful day smiling, exhausted and on top of the world having been in the company of such wonderful wedding suppliers and photographers. I’m now buzzing for this year’s wedding season!
