Llanerch Vineyard is situated in the Welsh countryside near Cardiff. It’s the perfect place for a wedding with it’s beautiful vineyard, woodland walk and lake. Not to mention the most delicious food and drinks!
I might be slightly biased because it was here that myself and my husband Mike had our own wedding reception in 2015! I always love coming here!
Sophie and Matthew got married on a beautiful day at the end of July. The sun was shining for them non stop. We had the prettiest golden evening light which was perfect for some portraits by the lake later in the day.
Sophie chose the softest shade of blue for her flowers, which complimented the bridesmaid dresses perfectly. The style of the day was natural elegance, and Sophie was the most perfect bride! The girls were in tears when they first saw her in her dress!
There was an emotional moment when Matthew’s mum gave him the most special gift. It was a tie-pin set that she had made set with diamonds from his grandmothers engagement ring! I welled up at this moment too, it was so beautiful…
The Ceremony
Llanerch Vineyard has a lovely space called Calon Lodge, and this is where the ceremony took place. I love wedding ceremonies here as it looks out over the vineyard and was flooded with sunlight. Matthew was taken aback as Sophie walked down the aisle towards him and the ceremony was such a happy one, full of smiles and laughter.
The reception began with drinks on the lawn by the vineyard and it’s here that I took the group photographs and began with some of the couple photographs. I had the company of Pristine Videography who was filming the day for Sophie and Matt. We always work well together to make sure that both our stories of the day are reflective of each other.
The Couple Photographs
After the wedding breakfast which was in the beautiful marquee, the sun began to get lower in the sky and I could see the light becoming perfect for some evening couple portraits. Sophie and Matt were happy to come on the woodland walk to the lake and I was so pleased to be able to capture some beautiful photographs for them!
Golden evening light really makes for the best portraits and I always get ridiculously happy when this happens!
After the first dance I captured some brilliant partying and dance floor moves and then left the guests to party the night away celebrating with the happy couple. it’s a day I won’t forget and I know Sophie and Matt will remember it for the rest of their lives…
