The Courtyard Venue Wedding Workshop

The Courtyard Venue is a beautiful wedding venue in Oswestry, Shropshire with high ceilings, white stone walls and light-filled spaces.

It has a fresh and airy feel and a relaxed laid-back vibe which is perfect for a country style wedding.

When I saw that Miles Workshop were having their first ever wedding photography workshop here I couldn’t wait to sign up!

With all of my weddings for this year postponed until next year and beyond I’ve been missing photographing gorgeous wedding content and I couldn’t wait to get creative again!

Styling & Mood

Miles workshop gave us incredible suppliers for this workshop, from flowers (OMG check out Agnes & Bee!!!), dresses (thank you to The White Closet they’re dreamy!), stationer, venue stylists and cake maker – we had it all!

The mood board for the shoot was natural, simple, chic in muted neutral tones. From delicate blush flowers, soft candles and dried flowers to sheer chiffon and silk and the most stunning pearl veil by Lori Muldoon Ireland. All of the suppliers gave us so much gorgeousness to get creative with!

The full list of all the incredible suppliers that collaborated on this shoot is after the gallery – they are all amazing and seriously worth looking at!

Attabara and Blonde Army were the stylists for the shoot and they designed a set which suited the natural vibe of The Courtyard Venue perfectly.

The dresses were simple elegance! Including a stunning bridal jumpsuit by Toni Maticevski which was incredible! Our model Ana Karina totally rocked this outfit and was incredible to photograph. She gave me some seriously striking images!

Wedding Photography Workshop

Obviously a wedding photography workshop is very different to a real wedding. Wedding suppliers collaborate to design a beautiful styled wedding shoot, and we have models to be our brides and grooms.

The bride and groom for this shoot were real couple Ellena and Adam. They’ve been together for three years (it was their anniversary on the day of the shoot in fact!) so directing them and photographing them felt very much like any other couple.

Photographing a professional model is so different to photographing a “non-model” however! A model naturally poses and knows how to stand and move to look their best – honestly it was quite mesmerising! – while on a wedding day I guide couples on how to stand and what to do to get the best photographs.

While I love the stunning editorial model shots, it’s so natural for me to want to capture a person’s real personality. Not just the face and the styled beauty, but to show feelings and genuine reactions within. These are some of my favourite photos from this whole shoot!

If you are looking for a Shropshire wedding venue with an elegant natural feel and light-filled rooms I would highly recommend The Courtyard Venue. It is simply beautiful!

I hope you enjoy my images from this amazing wedding photography workshop, I had so much fun shooting it and hope to be back at this gorgeous venue shooting a wedding before long! If you’re planning a wedding here then get in touch, I’d love to hear your wedding plans and talk about your wedding photography!

Have a look at my wedding gallery to see some photographs from some of my real weddings!
